Embed fonts within a file

If you’re presenting your work on someone else's computer but they don't have every font in your presentation, your slides may look a bit off. To prevent issues, you can embed fonts within a PowerPoint file to ensure it looks correct, regardless of where you're presenting it.

Check out our video to learn more about this helpful tip.

Steps

  1. Click on the File tab in PowerPoint. Then select Options from the left-hand menu.
  2. Click on Save from the left-hand menu. Check the box for Embed fonts in the file.
  3. Choose whether to embed only the characters used or all characters of every font in the presentation.
  4. Finally, click OK to save the changes.

If you made your PowerPoint presentation at home but plan on presenting at work or school, there’s a good chance the font might look different. This tip ensures that you won’t have any surprises when you open the file!
